Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2013
Being a newcomer to night photography, I had absolutely no expectations when I entered a few images into the 2013 Astronomy Photographer of the Year Competition, organised by the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. To my surprise and delight, one of my images made the shortlist and although I may not have won, it was certainly a honour being in the mix with photographers such as Ben Canales and Luis Argerich who inspired me to try night photography in the first place. I'm pleased to say that my short listed image has been published in the Astronomy Photographer of the Year book, a beautiful hard cover book published by Collins and available from the Royal Observatory Greenwich website, Amazon and other good resellers.

Landscape Photographer of the Year
I was thrilled and very honoured that my image "One Man Went to Mow" was commended by the judges of the Landscape Photographer of the Year competition. Being commended meant that it was both published in the Landscape Photographer of the Year Collection 3 book (published by AA Publishing) and hung as an exhibition print in London's National Theatre for 7 weeks. The Exhibition then toured the country for a further 3 months, with displays in various cities.

One Man Went to Mow published as a greetings card
The organisers of the Landscape Photographer of the Year competition have produced a series of greetings cards, using their favourite images from all 5 years of the competition. I was honoured that One Man Went To Mow was chosen as one of the images they wished to use, if slightly surprised to find that the square crop the publishers had used meant that the tractor didn't appear on the finished card!
